Mar 25 - Apr 06, 2025

13 days | Peru | alumni UBC Travel Club

Peru seamlessly weaves together its rich past and vibrant present, creating a captivating tapestry of history. Ideal for the first-time travellers to the country, or even the continent, this all-encompassing expedition traverses the diverse landscapes and heritage of Peru with particular focus on the Inca civilization, renowned builders and thinkers, who have left an indelible mark on the country.

Join UBC professor Jon Beasley Murray to delve into the place and space of the Inca Empire. Travel from Lima to the shores of Lake Titicaca, birthplace of Inca mythology, and onward across the breathtaking panoramas of the altiplano. Spend two days exploring the fabled ruins of the Sacred Valley, then embark on a scenic train ride to Machu Picchu, the crown jewel of Inca civilization with ample time to explore the magnificent site. Conclude our adventure by returning to Lima through Cusco, allowing ample time to delve into the intriguing history of both captivating cities.

Comfortable accommodation, special attention to Peru’s justly renowned fusion cuisine, and Jon’s special presentations during the tour round out this very singular trip.
