New Zealand Spring Garden Tour

It’s always a marvel to witness the arrival of the monthly full moon, and the rare occurrence of another full moon during the same month is referred to as a “blue moon.” So imagine the delight of experiencing the season which is bursting with life and beauty not once but twice in the year 2018. This is your opportunity to enjoy that very thing. Well after the fleeting season of spring has faded into a memory we are going to head off to New Zealand and revel in the joyous season of spring again. The hills are dotted with lambs, daffodils, and lush green grass. Everything is fresh with the color and flower varieties.

The North Island of New Zealand is bursting with colour and new life during the month of October when spring is at its peak. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this trip is the diverse activities planned for all to enjoy. While garden enthusiasts will be thrilled by our visits to some of the most gorgeous public and private gardens of New Zealand’s North Island, gastronomes will be rewarded by dining at some very special places that honor the country’s local ingredients and of course world famous New Zealand wines. A trip to New Zealand cannot be complete without learning more about its indigenous people. When we arrive in Rotorua to a landscape erupting with geothermal activity we will be finding out how the Maori have learned to live in harmony with this landscape.

The mountains, glaciers, fiords, lush tropical forest, and miles of sandy coastline are a stunning backdrop for New Zealand’s unique compliment of endemic flora.

I’m looking forward to sharing this horticultural adventure in one of my favourite places in the world.
