India enthralls, mystifies, and intoxicates its visitors and we can think of no better place to reaffirm a mother/daughter relationship. Travel to the very essence of India enjoying the colour and pageantry of the forts, palaces and temples in the land of the maharajahs. We’ll explore bustling Delhi, the turrets, towers, and battlements of the grand fort in Jaisalmer, the incomparable Taj Mahal, “pink” Jaipur, and “blue” Jodhpur. Join in the celebrations of Diwali, the Festival of Lights; it’s the ideal time to do all your holiday shopping and bring home some of India’s finest crafts. The mood at Diwali is happy and friendly with visitors welcomed and invited to take part. Palaces, shrines and markets are decorated for the occasion and everyone is dressed up in exotic finery. We’ll tour Rajasthan watching the preparations and take in the big day in Jaipur. Rajasthan is so photogenic it’s hard to know where to look. Our drives take us past yellow fields of mustard, meandering cows, camel-drawn carts and painted elephants, bangled women in lime, saffron, and scarlet carrying silver urns of water on their heads, and pink-turbaned gents leading bullock carts.
