Patagonia & Chilean Fjords Expedition

Sep 14-23, 2026

10 days | Chile | Expedition Cruise

Aboard the 96-passenger M/V Magellan Explorer!

Embark on a journey through one of the planet’s last great wildernesses: the dramatic Pacific coastline of southern Chile. This region holds within its remote fjords and ancient landscapes the enduring legacy of Earth’s geological and ecological history, from the towering Patagonian Ice Sheet—the third largest on Earth—to the Southern Beech forests that trace their lineage back to the supercontinent Gondwanaland.

On this exciting voyage of discovery, you can explore these dramatic landscapes with their deep fjords, glaciers, peaks, and ecosystems that have survived here for millennia, collectively making up one of Earth’s great remaining wilderness regions.

Commencing in Puerto Montt, Chile, we sail south through a vast network of deep fjords and channels, we gradually navigate toward Ushuaia in Argentina. We explore the magnificent scenery throughout the expedition by Zodiac, approaching huge glaciers and observing resident and migratory wildlife, such as various seabirds—including penguins—and whales, plus sea lions, and enormous Andean Condors.

Ashore, enjoy walks to outstanding viewpoints in the company of expert guides. Additionally, visits to small coastal communities showcase the unique way of life of the hardy local inhabitants, telling a story of the Kawéskar people, European settlers, and their descendants.

It’s hard to think of a more remote, pristine location, and we get to discover it all in the comfort of one of the world’s most capable expedition vessels, the custom-built M/V Magellan Explorer, to which our past travellers to both the Chilean Fjords and Antarctica have given their hearty endorsement!

Please note: Quest’s tour leader and 12 travellers will be part of the group onboard, as this is not an exclusive Quest Nature Tours voyage.
