8 days | Kenya | Private Journeys
True wildlife enthusiasts will relish this safari; you’ll get close to nature staying in small safari camps located inexclusive wild life conservancies in some of the finest big game areas and reserves in Africa. This is the way to escape from the crowds and experience the African wilderness and enjoy an undisturbed personal adventure with a knowledgeable and qualified safari guide.
Guided walks with Maasai warriors allow you to become engrossed in the African wilderness and track the footprints of the big cats and their prey. At Amboseli, you will see elephants, Thomson and Grant’s gazelles, lions, cheetahs and leopards, bat eared fox, mongooses, porcupine, giraffe and yellow baboon among the many now indigenous species. Ol Kinyei is renowned for its unspoilt and breathtaking scenery. The land, with its abundance of water sources in the form of springs, streams and rivers coupled with spectacular views across the Mara is home to a wide variety of animal species. Cheetahs are frequently seen and it is not rare to come across large numbers of both buffalo and elephant. The Olare Orok is the perfect mix of high predator densities coupled with low tourist densities. Teeming with wildebeest during the migration period, the conservancy also has several prides of lions often heard during the night.
The camps are small (6 – 9 tents) and authentic with rustic charm combined with creature comforts. Each camp is situated within a private wildlife conservancy for an intimate safari experience away from hordes of minibuses and crowds of tourists.
