French Polynesia with the Womens Travel Network

On this all-new tour, venture to five of French Polynesia’s Society Islands: Tahiti, Moorea, Raiatea, Huahine, and Bora Bora. These islands are part of one of five archipelagos in this larger cluster of over 120 islands and atolls in the South Pacific, where a culture of mariners has endured for millennia.

We begin in Tahiti, the largest and most populous island. Following a morning city tour and visit to the Papeete Market, we head to Moorea for the first of four three-night island stays. This one includes a culinary experience and a 4x4 waterfall tour. Kayak on Raiatea’s Faaroa River and admire the ancient stone sculptures at Marae Taputapuatea. On Huahine, we get an inside look at ancient life and Tahitian dance and waving traditions. Lagoon cruises from both Raiatea and Bora Bora are great for observing colourful sea life like fish, rays, and corals. Back on Tahiti, immerse yourself in the island’s natural wonders, from black-sand beaches to waterfalls hidden within the jungle.

To get from island to island, we take short flights plus two ferry rides. Food is fresh and includes a mix of Polynesian and French dishes. Each resort or lodge is authentic and superbly comfortable.
