Last updated: February 2023
We encourage you to read and understand this trip cancellation and refund policy (“Trip Cancellation and Refund Policy” or this “Policy”). An updated copy of the Terms will be available through the Web Application and on www.worldwidequest.com (the “Site”).
By accepting the Terms and/or Trip Cancellation and Refund Policy or by accessing the Services, you represent that you have read and agreed to the terms of this Policy. This Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms.
All capitalized terms that are not otherwise defined herein obtain their meaning from the Terms. If you do not agree with this Policy or any other provision in the Terms, you may not use the Services. All Trips are subject to the Travel Industry Act (Ontario) (the “Act”).
- Trip Cancellations, Transferring a Trip, and Refunds
If you decide to cancel your trip, you must notify Worldwide Quest immediately and in writing.
Except as described in section 1(c) below, ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. However, as described below, upon cancellation, you may be entitled to credits towards future trips.
- (a) Cancellation received 90 days or more prior to departure:
Should you cancel your Trip 90 days or more prior to departure, your Trip Deposit of up to US$750 / C$750 (as the case may be) for any land Trip will be held on account for you for up to two years and will be applied to your invoice for any Worldwide Quest Trip booked within two years of cancellation. Any other payments will not be refunded or credited.
- (b) Cancellation received within 90 days prior to departure
If you cancel your Trip within 90 days prior to departure, all payments, including any Trip Deposits, are non-refundable and we are not able to hold any credit for future Trips. The Trip price is quoted as a package and no partial refunds will be given for services not used. Name changes are not permitted.
Subject to these terms, you may request to transfer to a different Trip. To make a transfer request, you must notify Worldwide Quest in writing at travel@worldwidequest.com. The request must be made at least ninety (90) days prior to departure. Acceptance of such transfer requests will be in the sole discretion of Worldwide Quest. If approved, your Trip Deposit will be transferred, less an administrative fee of CAD$250, to the Trip Balance of a Trip departing not later than two (2) years from the time of the Trip Deposit’s transfer. Transfers are not allowed within ninety (90) days prior to the departure of your original Trip.
The above cancellation policy does not apply to expedition cruises. All payments for cruises are non-refundable. The transfer of a Trip Deposit for an expedition cruise is not permitted at any time due to the terms and conditions of our ship operators. Custom Group trips may have different terms for cancellation; these terms are outlined in the Detailed Itinerary of the trip.
- (c) Cancellation by Worldwide Quest due to Reasons Other than Force Majeure Events:
Worldwide Quest reserves the right to cancel any Trip prior to departure for any reason, including insufficient number of travelers for a particular Trip. If a Trip is cancelled by Worldwide Quest before the date of departure for reasons other than Force Majeure (as described in paragraph (d) below) or as a result of a suspension of operations by Worldwide Quest and the cancellation is not caused by your fault or negligence, you will have the choice of accepting from Worldwide Quest:
- (i) a substitute Trip of equivalent or greater value; or
- (ii) a substitute Trip of lesser value, if no Trip of equivalent or greater value is reasonably available, and to recover from Worldwide Quest the difference in price between the price of the Trip originally purchased and the substitute Trip; or
- (iii) a full refund of all monies paid for the cancelled Trip.
- (d) Cancellation by Worldwide Quest due to Force Majeure Events:
If a Trip is deemed to be rendered inoperable by Worldwide Quest before the date of departure due to Force Majeure (as defined in Section 16 of the Terms) or as a result of a suspension of operations by Worldwide Quest and the cancellation is not caused by your fault or negligence, Worldwide Quest may offer you either:
- (i) a substitute Trip of equivalent or greater value;
- (ii) a substitute Trip of lesser value, if no Trip of equivalent or greater value is reasonably available, and to recover from Worldwide Quest the difference in price between the price of the Trip originally purchased and the substitute Trip; or
- (iii) a travel credit valued at 100% of monies paid for your Trip.
Worldwide Quest is not responsible for any incidental expenses or consequential losses that you may incur as a result of the cancelled booking including visas, vaccinations, non-refundable flights or rail, non-refundable car parking or other fees, loss of earnings, or loss of enjoyment, You will not be entitled to make any further claim for any injury, loss, expenses, or damage (either direct or consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience that may result from cancellation (including but not limited to airline tickets, visa, passport, vaccination charges, airport, or airline taxes.)
Since schedules are determined many months in advance, changes in dates, accommodations, leaders or routes may become necessary prior to or during the Trip. In this event, Participants will have no right to a refund of the Trip Price. In the event the advertised Trip leader becomes unable to lead the Trip for any reason, a qualified substitute will be named by Worldwide Quest.
