Kelly K. Falkner
Dr. Kelly Kenison Falkner has devoted her entire career to the Polar regions. She currently serves as Director of the Office of Polar Programs of the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S Antarctic Program. During the International Polar Year (2007-08), she founded the Antarctic Integrated System Science Program, which led to having an Antarctic glacier named after her. This followed 26 years as a Professor in the College of Oceanic & Atmospheric Sciences at Oregon State University.
