We're putting finishing touches on this exciting itinerary. Please register your interest here to be the first to receive a detailed itinerary.

This expedition is presented by the alumni associations of the University of Alberta, the University of Saskatchewan, Western University, McMaster University, McGill University, York University, and the University of Guelph. All curious travellers are welcome!

Join us for a captivating journey through the heart of Central Europe brimming with historical landmarks, picturesque landscapes, and cultural treasures.

This walking tour showcases the best of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Poland, highlighting five UNESCO World Heritage Sites renowned for their cultural significance and architectural splendor. Beyond these renowned destinations, there are numerous hidden gems waiting to be discovered as we explore a mix of town and trail walking.

Our itinerary offers a diverse range of experiences, from exploring the enchanting medieval towns to admiring historical landmarks and natural wonders. In addition to exploring Prague and Krakow, we will venture into the scenic Bohemian mountains, discover ingenious military structures in Dobrosov, and marvel at the Renaissance architecture of Litomysl Palace. Throughout our journey, carefully planned walks lead us from the rolling hills and verdant valleys of the Czech countryside to the forests and lakes of Poland.

Accommodation is in small charming inns and hotels with meals presenting savoury regional specialities. Walks are carefully planned at the easy to moderate level. The terrain we cover is maintained partly gravel or forest/meadow walking trails with up to 300 meters ascent or descent. We’ll provide a suggested training schedule to help you get ready.
