Peter Arcese

Peter Arcese is an Emeritus professor and Forest Renewal Chair in Conservation Biology with more than 200 papers and books on the ecology and genetics of insular bird, plant, and mammal populations in South and North America as well as Africa. Peter currently coordinates a 50-year study of an insular Song Sparrow population with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, advises research on individually-identified Andean Bears, and collaborates with the W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Council to create science curricula for SENĆOŦEN emersion learners. As a former Chair of Nature Trust BC, Peter is enthusiastic about sharing his passion for nature and expanding the roles of private finance in the conservation of nature.
