Home > South Korea
In the southern reaches of the Korean peninsula, little-known natural beauty awaits, surprising visitors as much as its ancient heritage fascinates. After rebuilding from its turbulent past, South Korea has become a global leader in technological innovation, particularly in the dynamic greater Seoul area, home to nearly half the nation’s population. The rugged northern landscapes, where deer and bears roam alpine forests, contrast sharply with the fertile southern coast, where ginseng fields flourish in a milder, subtropical climate. Across the countryside, Korea’s wildlife thrives—from native pheasants in open fields to graceful waterfowl in tranquil wetlands. The internationally endangered Red-crowned Crane finds refuge in the country’s northern wintering grounds. Beyond the bustle, rice paddies, quiet fishing villages, and serene temples offer glimpses of a slower pace of life. The ancient heart of Korea beats strongest in Gyeongju, where temples, pagodas, and royal tombs preserve the splendor of its early kingdoms. In Korea, every traveller is greeted with warmth and a perfect blend of urban energy and timeless tradition.

Good to Know

In South Korea, karaoke (called noraebang) is way more than a nightclub gimmick, it’s a core part of social life, where friends, coworkers, and even families gather in private neon-lit rooms to sing, laugh, and decompress together.

What to Eat

Everyday Korean classics are the comforting dishes locals grow up with, such as colourful bibimbap rice bowls and simple grilled meats wrapped in lettuce with plenty of kimchi on the side. These unfussy, hearty meals are made to be shared, giving travellers an easy, delicious way into daily Korean life.
