The lands fringing the North Atlantic have always posed challenges to human enterprise. Only those with a sense of adventure have succeeded in reaping the bounties to be had. Through its tenacity and adaptability, wildlife has similarly thrived in a seemingly forbidding environment. This brand-new expedition will take our intrepid travellers on the trail of the brave Gaels and Vikings to discover stark landscapes cloaked in a long history and an even longer occupation by wildlife.

After meeting in Edinburgh and boarding the RCGS Resolute, we sail north to several Scottish Islands including the Orkneys and Outer Hebrides. Known for their rich tapestry of culture and rugged natural beauty, these dramatic coastlines are broken by the occasional fishing village and quaint seaside town. Our voyage continues to the enigmatic and remote Faroe Islands in the middle of the North Atlantic, a land of sod roofs dominated by steep mountains, sheep, and the largest colony of European Storm-Petrels in the world. Our last stop on our North Atlantic adventure takes us to Iceland, home to ice-covered volcanoes, immense glaciers, and geothermal lagoons. A stark volcanic land with a warm heart, Iceland’s shallow fjords are a haven for whales, dolphins and seals alike, with wonderful tundra vegetation just coming into bloom and fine array of birds. Each day we disembark our vessel to explore in the company of expert guides, cruising in zodiacs and enjoying walks on coast.

Your time on the RCGS Resolute will be unforgettable: marvel at hundreds of thousands of seabirds lining cliff sides, take in the astonishing coastlines of the most remote storied islands in Europe, watch for marine mammals and enjoy the fresh sea air.

Join us to enjoy a true insider’s experience of Scotland, Faroe Islands, & Iceland!
