Pico Bonito: Jewel of Honduras

We are excited to be returning once again to Honduras. This small Central American country offers a great experience of habitats and wildlife of the New World Tropics. It’s a gem – a land of mountains and forests, beaches and coral reefs, mangroves and wilderness.

On this single-lodge tour, we’ll enjoy discoveries at a nice pace as we stay at one of the country’s finest getaways: the Lodge at Pico Bonito. Situated inside the national park by the same name, our lodge allows for easygoing discovery and serves as a fantastic base for nearby explorations. A remarkable array of wildlife is found here in this peaceful and safe part of the country, where we’ll visit a number of national parks, wildlife refuges and biological reserves, affording a chance to appreciate the work that Hondurans have made to protect their natural spaces and to delight in their wildlife. Toucans, cotingas, manakins, sloths, monkeys and much more – these are all in the realm of possible sightings we can make, and we’ll delight in the opportunities for intimate observations that this affords. There will be many excellent photographic opportunities too!

Please contact Amanda to join this immersion in Central American wildlife! If you’re eager for more discoveries, please consider our post-trip extension to the famous Maya archaeological site of Copán.
