Music in the Baltics

The Baltic states have long held music education as an important priority in their set of national values. Simply put, they believe that music makes better citizens, nationally and internationally. This music tour will feature marvelous concerts with such esteemed ensembles as the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra or the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre in their renowned concert venues. We will also witness the region’s music education system at work by visiting schools, observing choral rehearsals and hearing the results first-hand.

The capitals of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius are vibrant cities, famous for their lovingly-maintained “old towns” – all listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. The area has much to offer art lovers: remarkable and surprising architecture that reveals a rich variety of styles from the Gothic to the Baroque, to Art Nouveau and modernist; a strong tradition of arts and crafts is felt in textiles, amber ware, painting and sculpture.

Our tour wraps up in one of the world’s most beautiful cities – Stockholm. It will be an unforgettable cultural experience in a region that truly loves music and values it as a necessary ingredient to a fulfilling life.
