Guatemala's Mysteries of the Mayan World: Your Way

Become immersed in tropical flora and fauna, unique wildlife, and above all, a rich cultural heritage on this two week tour of Guatemala. From Guatemala City you make a base in the Spanish colonial city of Antigua, where you will visit markets, climb a volcano, take in some cooking classes, enjoy lunch with a local family, and soak in thermal baths. You also spend time by the staggeringly beautiful Lake Atitlan and visit the vibrant Chichicastenango Indian markets. From here you’ll head to the Caribbean coast and, after visiting a jungle reserve and taking a Rio Dulce boat trip, you'll continue our journey to the remote Maya ruins at Peten. Your final leg of this fascinating journey is to the magnificent ruins and surrounding forest of Tikal, which you will explore before flying back to Guatemala City.
