Join Lewie on an adventure to some of his favourite Indian destinations, an amazing journey from Amritsar’s Golden Temple to the Buddhist world of Dharamsala and the “Little Tibet” of Leh.

Meet in Delhi to visit some of Lewie’s favourite haunts, then fly to Amritsar. You’ll be awed by the magnificent Golden Temple where we are invited to join the feast of thousands and equally taken by the pageantry of the Wagah sundown border ceremony. Our journey continues overland as we watch for the first view of the majestic Himalayas on the drive to Dharamshala, a place of mystery, home to the government in exile of the Dalai Lama. Experience Tibetan rituals and traditions and enjoy walks in the glorious scenery of the spectacular Dhauladhar mountain range. Explore the British summer capital of Shimla and admire the higgledy-piggledy Oriental Tudor houses. Take the toy train for outstanding views of the mountains. An epic flight takes us to Ladakh, the least populated and most inaccessible region in all of India. Stay in the capital Leh for five days to visit ancient palaces, forts, and monasteries of the Indus Valley. Ancient Buddhist roadside stupas glow white against the stark, otherworldly backdrop of enormous mountains with glaciated tops inspiring an appreciation of another sense of mystery.
