Anthropologist, economist, farmer by chance and lover of nature and good energies, Fernando Polanco is the General Manager and CEO of Hacienda Zuleta. He is an enthusiast of conservation, sustainable production, socially responsible progress, and keeper of his family history; and is always eager to share his knowledge of his beloved Ecuador and his family´s farm – an example of how production can be achieved without sacrificing the land, the people and revenue. Fernando fell in love with Western Canada during a 5-month specialized course on Trout Hatchery Management at Vancouver Island University when it was Malaspina College.
