Canada’s East Coast Adventure

Oct 05-15, 2024

11 days | Canada | Expedition Cruise

In the mid-18th Century, the French fleet set forth from the port of Louisbourg to patrol the Gulf of St. Lawrence, guarding against enemy incursions. On this special voyage of discovery, we too will set forth from Louisbourg, this time travelling to many of the Gulf’s points of interests to discover its wildlife, fascinating landforms, and vibrant living cultures.

We hope to see a number of whale and seal species as we travel. At Bird Island, we will look for a concentration of Bald Eagles, and we will watch for shorebirds on beaches and lagoons throughout. On Prince Edward Island, we will immerse in local history and explore the red sandstone landscapes. In Gaspé, we will see the famous Percé Rock and world-famous Northern Gannet colony. Among other experiences, we plan to visit Newfoundland’s famed Gros Morne National Park and the French outpost of St-Pierre-et-Miquelon. Our autumn visit also coincides with the fall colours on beautiful Cape Breton Island! A bonus of this tour is a visit to Sable Island, home to the famous Sable Island Ponies.

Our expedition vessel is the beautiful S/V Klara. Welcoming a maximum of 36 guests aboard, this refurbished vessel provides comfort and a feeling of warmth during our journey.

Join us on this circle-tour of this distinctive region in the heart of Canada’s Atlantic Coast! Quest leader Pete Read will accompany our group with a minimum of 10 travellers.

Please note:
This is not an exclusive Quest Nature Tours voyage. Our Quest group may be sharing the vessel with other travellers.
