Mongolia: Steppes, Deserts & Dinosaurs

This tour is designed especially for the alumni and friends of the University of Alberta and is open to all intrepid travellers who enjoy a strong learning component to their trips.

University of Alberta's education programs aim to highlight the outstanding work that occurs at the university and to give our alumni access to the best researchers and teachers on campus. And, as part of their education program, they're committed to providing you with exceptional travel opportunities. Mongolia: Steppes, Deserts & Dinosaurs offers the best of both.

The U of A is home to one of the world’s best dinosaur research programs and vertebrate paleontology collections. Clive Coy has been the Chief Technician for the Laboratory for Vertebrate Paleontology since 2008 and has overseen the excavation, preparation, and cataloguing of many of the specimens in the collection. Clive has been an integral part of the development of our internationally-renowned program and has an extraordinary knowledge of paleontology including more than 35 years of experience in field work.

Clive will provide in-depth and exceptional insight as you experience Mongolia— its people, its landscapes, and its history—on this exciting journey. His vast experience in the country and in leading field expeditions will ensure that you have a remarkable trip and I know that you’ll enjoy his easy-going, charismatic style.

Combine your love of travel and discovery with the chance to learn from the U of A’s brightest. Mongolia awaits.
