Costa Rica & the Panama Canal

"I'm just writing to say how impressed I was with my your of Costa Rica and Panama with Jean Iron. She is such a wonderful person! Kind, fun, helpful and always there for us. She really made this trip extra special for me." – Cathy, 2017 traveller

The narrow link of land that connects North and South America is a treasured and unique part of the world from both the wildlife and geographic perspectives. This likewise unique tour will allow you to discover some of the most interesting natural features that this region has to offer! We start at Panama’s world-famous Canopy Tower, a hilltop lodge nestled right in the tropical forest whence we can enjoy unique views of wildlife and forays into the Canal Zone’s wildlife hotspots in the heart of Panama. We then board our small-ship the M.V. Safari Voyager, which offers another dimension to our discoveries. We gain unparalleled access to the wildlife and landscapes of this region as we journey from Panama’s Caribbean Coast to Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast and have a unique blend of land and water activities. Our transit through the Panama Canal is particularly unforgettable, especially aboard a small ship like the M.V. Safari Voyager.

Watch White-faced Capuchin monkeys and Kinkajous cavorting high in the canopy and colourful toucans, trogons and motmots posing in the foliage. Stroll on long shorelines dotted with tiny coves and beautiful white sand beaches, nesting grounds for Leatherback, Hawksbill and Olive Ridley Turtles. See raucous Scarlet Macaws streaming overhead. Snorkel over expansive coral reefs, teeming with strikingly beautiful fish, and paddle through brilliant Pacific waters in sea kayaks. Meet Panama’s indigenous Emberá people, who have managed to maintain their distinct identity over centuries.

We are at the Canopy Tower and on board the comfortable 64-passenger M.V. Safari Voyager with activities specially arranged for our group. During our eleven days we’ll be enjoying a true insider’s experience of Panama and Costa Rica.
